Checking techs one at a time gets old.
TradeShield checks every license on your crew against TDLR every morning and emails the tech, the office and you before anything lapses. Send us your roster and we set it up. $99/month flat for the whole crew, 7 days free.
Every license on a Texas crew renews on its own date.
A/C technician registrations and journeyman electrician licenses are each valid for one year from the date they're issued, so a crew of ten has ten different renewal dates. TDLR sends a reminder, but staying current is on the license holder.
Missing one costs more than the late fee. On TDLR's air conditioning penalty schedule, using someone who isn't a registered or certified technician is a Class C violation at $2,000 to $5,000, and working on an expired license is a Class B violation at $1,000 to $3,500.

Questions
How do I look up a Texas HVAC or electrician license?
Type the license or registration number above (the digits are enough), or switch to the name tab and type the tech's name or company. You'll see whether it's current and the exact expiration date from TDLR's records.
How often do TDLR licenses renew?
A/C technician registrations and certifications and journeyman electrician licenses are each valid for one year from the date of issue, so they renew every year on their own date.
Is this the official TDLR license search?
No. It reads TDLR's public license data, which the state publishes on the Texas Open Data Portal and updates regularly, so it can lag TDLR's own site by a few days. For an official record, use TDLR's license search.
How do the reminder emails work?
Pick a license, enter your email, and we'll email you 60, 30 and 7 days before it expires. Before each reminder we check TDLR again, so if the tech already renewed you won't get nagged. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Can I track my whole crew instead of one license at a time?
Yes, that's what TradeShield does. Send us your roster (a spreadsheet or photos of the cards are fine) and we set it up. It checks every license against TDLR every morning and alerts the right people before anything lapses. $99/month flat, 7 days free.
